I took this in order to enter it in the Bloomington Photography Club June photoshare. The most challenging part of the photo was to edit out the reflection of the person who was holding the flag.

I took this photograph of the Vietnam Memorial with the Washington Monument in the background when we were in Washington D.C. for the Cherry Blossom Festival.

This photo is of a cut glass bottle that I filled with water then added a drop of red food coloring. I used the white siding of our house as the background.

Twins

Friends of ours, Jen and Aaron, had twins recently. I have taken several photos of them and their older daughter and was glad that they asked me to photograph the twins. These three images were taken when the twins were about a month old.

I was assigned to do a short photo session with Susie of Joyful Hound this past week. We managed to get together between the showers and I was also lucky in finding a time when our neighbor's dog, Lucy, was available. These are some of the photos I took during this session.

Yosemite - June 2008

We visited Yosemite National Park with our son and his girlfriend in June. Below are three of my favorite images from that trip. The first two are of Yosemite Falls and the third is Half Dome.

We have had some rain recently and on the morning after a recent storm I noticed that the tulips were picking up the morning light and reflecting the dew that they were covered in. Here is one of the photos from earlier this week.

I met Virginia last year and thought she would be fun to photograph. Her daughter is a friend and colleague of mine so I asked if she would ask Virginia if she would be willing to sit for me. We visited the retirement apartments where she lives and I took these photos of her in the library of the apartments. Virginia is a delight to work with and to know.

A couple of years ago when we were in Tucson we visited the Arizona Sonoma Desert Museum. This is a great place to visit and I highly recommend it if you happen to be in the Tucson area. One of the attractions of the museum is their bird show. This hawk was one of the raptors that was visiting the museum while we were there.

Our oldest, and best friends, visited this past weekend. As they learned, nearly everyone who comes by becomes a model. For this shot I was trying my hand at using two flashes rather than one in order to get a better shadow and depth of field for the photo.

I was looking for something more interesting, and spring like, to shoot. Fortunately my wife had purchased a flower arrangement recently and I decided to focus the camera on it.

Since returning from Kauai we have experienced several very cold periods. During one of those we drove to Cataract Falls - which identifies itself as the largest waterfall in Indiana. I'm not sure that is a significant claim to fame but here is a shot of it when the temperature was in single digits.

In December 2007 we had the chance to visit our son and his fiance on the island of Kauai - perhaps our favorite vacation destination. Unfortunately it rained much more than usual but still I was able to capture this shot of Waimea Canyon during one of our drives to that part of the island.
